B2C Business Development Manager Switzerland

The job

We are strengthening our commercial team in Switzerland to significantly grow our business with patients and direct-to-consumers.

In this role, you will be responsible for growing our retail units and online business by identifying new business opportunities in the Business to consumer (B2C) and Direct-to-consumer (DTC) space, building and maintaining relationships with clients and implementing strategies to drive sales and revenue growth in the retail and online sector. You will also play a key role in market analysis, strategic planning, and team leadership to achieve business objectives. In collaboration with the B2C Marketing Manager and BCC Operations manager, you will ensure that retail and online businesses deliver profitable growth through innovative and digitalized operation models, superior and consistent consumer experiences aligned with Group guidelines.

Key responsibilities

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to expand Unilabs own footprint across Switzerland as well as developing retail partnerships with existing or new customers.
  • Developing and implementing innovative and differentiated sales strategies to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets through new retail centers, renovated centers
  • Building and maintaining relationships with retail clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions delivering joint value
  • Conduct market research to identify potential locations with high foot traffic and target demographics, analyze competitor presence and assess market saturation in the chosen location. Secure necessary permits and licenses for the new retail outlet in compliance with local regulations.
  • Develop a comprehensive business plan outlining financial projections, operational strategies and marketing initiatives.
  • Source and negotiate leases or purchase agreements for suitable retail space.
  • Design the layout and interior of the retail outlet to optimize customer flow and product visibility.
  • Negotiating contracts and agreements with retail partners, suppliers and vendors
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of the retail outlet, analyzing sales data and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and identify areas for improvement, making adjustments as needed to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Conducting market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences
  • Collaborating with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns and enhance brand visibility
  • Providing leadership and guidance to the sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
  • Delivering commercial and scientific training and education to nurses to ensure high quality service to consumers and increase conversion to sales in retail centers (trade up, trade across).
  • Staying updated on industry trends and best practices to remain competitive in the retail market
  • Representing the company at industry events, conferences and trade shows to network and promote products and services

Your Profile

  • Strong sales and negociation skills – ability to close details and negotiate contracts with partners
  • Market knowledge: understanding retail trends, customer behavior, and competitor analysis
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales & business development, preferably within the healthcare, diagnostic or FMCG industry.
  • Relationship building: building and maintaining relationships with clients, suppliers and others stakeholders
  • Strategic planning: developing and implementing strategies to expan business opportunities and increase revenue
  • Communication skills: effective communication both verbally and in writing to pitch ideas, negotiate terms and build rapport
  • Leadership abilities: leading and motivating teams to achieve sales targets and business objectives
  • Analytical skills: ability to analyze sales data, market research, and financial reports to make informed decisions
  • Adaptability: flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and industry trends
  • Results’-oriented: focus on achieving measurable outcomes and driving business growth
  • Proven track record of successfully executing B2B and B2C marketing strategies.
  • Strong understanding of retail channel dynamics as well as good knowledge of digital marketing channels and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player and skilled to forge strong multi-functional collaborations.
