Electronics Engineer

* Spearhead the definition of the instrument's design with respect to electronics, operations, and software in a cross-functional engineering team and with the industrial consortium members.
* Support of the development of the electronics system of the instrument over its lifecycle.
* Participate in assembly, integration, verification, and testing (AIV and AIT) activities.
* Interface the international consortium and issue, maintain, and release instrument related documentation.
* Define a novel instrument control and/or data product strategy according to applicable AI/ML techniques, depending on the candidate's interest and ability.

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field.
* 5 years of experience in developing software and/or electronic hardware

* Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field.
* Knowledge of designing low power, complex electronics.
* Experience in any of these fields: data acquisition with GHz ADCs, oscilloscopes, high voltage power supplies, FPGAs, lasers with advanced timing constraints, reinforcement learning.
* Familiarity with space projects and knowledge of the NASA or ECSS standards.

The position is available upon negotiation, for an initial period of one year with the option of extension. Our salary range is determined in accordance with the personnel regulations of the Canton of Bern.
