Job Description

The Internal Communication and Events Manager is integral to fostering a cohesive and informed workplace at SMG. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communication & Public Affairs, this part-time role focuses on enhancing internal communication and strengthening organisational culture through well-planned and effectively executed internal events.
The ideal candidate will ensure all employees are informed of company developments and remain engaged through strategic communication initiatives and corporate events.
This position requires effective collaboration across all SMG departments to achieve communication goals and successfully manage company events.



  • Design and deliver effective communication strategies to enhance employee engagement and ensure all staff are informed of company development
  • Plan, organise and manage all aspects of internal events, including town hall meetings and annual parties
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure event success, managing budgets, scheduling, and vendor relationships
  • Manage the production of internal communication materials such as newsletters, emails and intranet updates
  • Create engaging content for internal communication channels, ensuring clarity, brand consistency and message alignment
  • Collect and analyse employee feedback to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies and events
  • Report on event outcomes and communication campaign impacts, providing insights and recommendations for improvement
  • This role requires a flexible approach to work hours, especially around event dates. The expectation is to fulfil the responsibilities within the part-time capacity, focusing efforts on high-impact activities and possible peak times




  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or a related field
  • Proven experience in internal communications, public relations or event management
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills; able to communicate information effectively and creatively
  • Good English skills (corporate language)
  • Skilled with digital communication tools
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Team player who can work effectively with different levels of management and staff
  • Can think strategically and integrate diverse inputs into cohesive strategies.
  • Flexible, and able to adjust to changes
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude
