The Maintenance Mechanic, an important member of the Facility Maintenance Team, carries out skilled maintenance and repair work on mechanical systems throughout the Embassy compound, including office buildings, grounds, and residental leased properties. They respond to scheduled and unscheduled work orders, as well as complete preventive maintenance. Daily, the incumbent performs work on a variet of mechanical systems, building structures, and equipment as directed by the locally employed Supervisor. In addition, The Maintenance Mechanic performs other duties to support post activities including event set-up, relocations facilities emergencies, escorting, monitoring contractors, and assisting other shops or work centers as part of the Facility Maintenance team.
The Facility Maintenance Unit is in the Management Section – the Embassy's largest section. The Maintenance Mechanic reports to the locally employed Supervisor.
